Coimbra em Blues returns between the 1st and 2nd of December at TAGV!
The 2023 edition will feature four artists spread over two nights. In the first, on December 1st, at 9:30 pm, Wax & Boogie, one of the biggest names in European Boogie Woogie, will take the stage. A duo of musicians with influences from Kansas City, Texas Blues and Rhythm n’ Blues from the 50s. At 11 pm it will be time for Portuguese Blues Reunion, a project led by Mário Laginha, Frankie Chavez and Budda Guedes accompanied by Nico Guedes on drums and Vasco Moura on bass. The idea is to showcase blues styles of their own themes.
On Monday, December 2nd, the night begins at 9:30 pm with the second presence in Portugal (the first was last July at Porto Blues Fest) by Ukrainian musician Alexander Dolgov & CEB Band, a manifesto of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Alexander Dolgov, founder of the blues movement in Ukraine, lived in Kharkiv. The night will end with the voice of North American Sugar Queen, a singer and songwriter from Chicago who, in addition to blues, has roots in gospel and jazz.
