Facebook launches Music Videos area
From this weekend on, you can start discovering video clips, watching and sharing without leaving the social network. Mark Zuckerberg’s company promises an offer from today’s top artists, new music promises, as well as classics of all genres.
Facebook promises several world premieres that will take place on the platform, including videos with exclusive music content from artists such as J. Balvin, Karol G, Sebastian Yatra, Alejandro Fernandez and Caliber 50.
And the service started with the debut of an official video clip of Lele Pons, an internet celebrity, who curiously started his career on YouTube. The artist first did a live to pull fans on the platform before the premiere.
Facebook intends to combine several tools of the platform to help artists and bands to promote themselves, connect and interact with their fans, especially in times of pandemic that prevent live concerts.
In addition to the premieres of the videos, they can interact with fans through lives, countdown stickers in Stories and feed Fan Groups with additional content or participate in fundraising for social causes.
The new functionality is gradually reaching users, both in the Web version, in iOS and Android applications and can be found in the Watch tab in the Music menu.
The page will feature curated genres for you, including the most popular of the week or what’s new. The algorithm will learn from users’ preferences, thus improving recommendations, so that they become more personalized.
