FC Porto ends the handball championship undefeated
The 30th and final round of the Handball 1 championship took place this Wednesday. The most prominent note goes to FC Porto and to an absolutely historic fact: the dragons beat FC Gaia and, in this way, ended the proof with 30 games and 30 wins.
An absolutely immaculate season for the dragons, who thus achieved an unprecedented feat in a championship played by 16 teams.
The other point of interest in this last round was second place. In this chapter, and as was predictable, Sporting confirmed the vice-leadership, beating Águas Santas. The lions will thus enter the 2nd round of the EHF Cup.
Also because, it should be noted, the main contender of the lions in this objective, Benfica, ended up being defeated by the trip to Restelo, losing to Belenenses. As such, the eagles will have to start next season earlier as they enter the EHF Cup 1st round.
Regarding the bottom of the table, Boavista and Sanjoanense, who were both defeated in this journey, descend to the second step of the national handball.
