After an intense run at national and international festivals, Fidju Kitxora returns to Lisbon for a special night at Lux Frágil on September 25. In this iconic city venue, music asserts itself as a territory of encounter and collective expression in a concert that marks the end of their summer tour.
In a year in which immigration dominates public debate—often in simplistic and divisive discourse—the Portuguese-Cape Verdean collective proposes diversity as a space to imagine other futures. The show is an invitation to listen with body and heart, on a journey that fuses funaná, semba, kuduro, and Afro-house with contemporary electronics and field recordings, creating bridges where others insist on building walls.
Raised between Cape Verde and Lisbon, Fidju Kitxora (“weeping son” in Kriolu) released his debut album, Racodja, in 2024—an ode to the voices of the diaspora, past, present, and future. The album has served as the starting point for a tour that has already taken him to some of the most important national and international stages, including the Festival Músicas do Mundo (Sines), Tallinn Music Week, Sinsal Festival (Vigo), Mercat de Música Viva (Vic), as well as Tremor, Nascentes, Zigurfest, and Serralves em Festa. He will also soon perform at Festival F and BAM (Barcelona).
