On the occasion of Manuel Alegre’s 85th birthday, Joana Alegre considered that it would be the opportune moment to celebrate and honor the poetry of one of the most sung Portuguese poets ever.
“Um Só Dia” brings together great names in Portuguese music in a unique occasion that recalls in new arrangements, famous songs such as “Meu Amor é Marinheiro” or “Trova do Tempo que Passa”, and reveals for the first time unpublished music by Joana Alegre. from the father’s poetry.
The first of the two concerts will take place on the 17th of September at the Centro de Artes de Águeda, with the special participation of Camané, Cristina Branco, Jorge Palma, and Maria Ana Bobone.
On October 6th (place to be announced), the event will feature special guests: Agir, Ana Bacalhau, Cristina Branco, and Jorge Palma.
“Um Só Dia” has the artistic direction of André Mona Santos and curatorship by Joana Alegre. The show is a celebration of music from within the mother tongue, today and for the future.
