It was decided that the 27th edition of Fespaco will be held from 16 to 23 October, in Ouagadougou.
The festival thus gains a new official date, after, in January, the executive announced the postponement of Fespaco ‘sine die’ due to the covid-19.
The organization has so far received 900 films from 28 countries and, of the registered entries, 71 are nationally produced in Burkina Faso.
Fespaco, the main film festival in Africa, takes place every two years in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso.
At the festival, competing films try to reach the Golden Stallion.
Since 1969, the date of its creation, Fespaco has brought together tens of thousands of spectators and actors from the cinematographic world in Ouagadougou.
Fespaco is one of the main events that place Burkina Faso on the global cultural scene, a country that since 2015 has been affected by a spiral of sub-regional ‘jihadism’.
