Marcos Freitas wins and enters the main frame of the Austrian Open
Portuguese athlete Marcos Freitas has qualified for the main table at the Austrian Open table tennis tournament in Linz.
Already out of competition were Diogo Carvalho and Tiago Apolónia, both lost in the third and penultimate round of the preliminary round.
Marco Freitas, who is 27th in the world rankings, won 4-3 Jakub Dyjas, with 9-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9. 10-12, 11-6 and 13-11 and still 4-1 Ricardo Walther, with the partials of 11-3, 7-11, 11-0, 11-5 and 11-7.
He will play today at 2:00 pm Thursday with Hong Kong athlete Chun Ting Wong, who ranks 17th in the world standings.
