The new festival of opera in the city of Lisbon starts August 21st until September 11th
From the great classics to the avant-garde opera, to the meeting of all audiences, with varied formats, mostly presented outdoors, with the great mission of projecting this total art form in the future, OPERAFEST is born in a particularly demanding year, but of soul and heart, to offer and excitement of the opera to everyone!
It has a varied and ultra comprehensive program from Puccini’s Tosca, to the contemporary opera competition – Opera Marathon XXI, going through an “Operational Rave” with social distance, a surprise Opera Gala, Cine-opera and much more.
Presenting 8 operas in absolute debut, OPERAFEST wants to bring the opera closer to today’s audience, with new orders, new challenges, new composers, and especially new operas reflecting on the world today!
With the motto “The worse, the better”, evoking the tragic essence of opera – the start of OPERAFEST takes place under the unifying theme of betrayal and deception, as instigators of tragedy.
The game of life, based on the constant dialectic between trust and its breakdown, reaches the level of utopia with the opera, singing the fascinating and tragic complexity of the human being!
