The Freedom Festival in Grândola, on the night of April 24th, will feature concerts by Paulo de Carvalho and AGIR, two of the biggest names in Portuguese music.
Paulo de Carvalho, with more than 60 years of career that summarizes fundamental and decisive stages of Portuguese music, is the first artist to take the stage. “Depois do Adeus”, the first slogan of the Carnation Revolution, made the multi-award-winning singer and composer one of the greatest symbols of the 25th of April. In the show As Cantigas Que Eu Fiz… e Others, songs that became popular and new songs were brought together with songs they wrote and composed for other voices.
Following a pyro-musical and multimedia show, the party continues with AGIR and its show Cantando Abril. One of the most important contemporary artists in Portuguese music, he pays tribute to the 25 de Abril songbook, its poets and intervention musicians, such as Zeca Afonso, Sérgio Godinho or Fausto, among others.
The big Freedom Festival promoted by the Municipality of Grândola starts at 10:30 pm, at the Grândola Fair and Exhibition Park. Vila Morena promises to host two unmissable shows during the April celebrations.
