For the first time, Pedro Sousa is in the semi-final of an ATP event, after winning Thiago Monteiro in Buenos Aires.
[dropcap type=”background”]I[/dropcap]n a game that lasted an hour and forty-seven minutes, the Portuguese beat Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, in two sets by 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4.
Pedro Sousa, 145th in the ATP ranking, is the fifth Portuguese tennis player to be present in the semi-finals of an ATP tournament, after João Sousa, Gastão Elias, Frederico Gil and João Cunha e Silva.
Now follows Diego Schwartzman, 14th in the ATP ranking in the semi-finals.
