Portugal beats Spain and wins beach soccer World Cup
The Portuguese team finished the competition with a 100% winning record.
The Portuguese team secured this Thursday the conquest of the 2019 Beach Soccer World Cup by beating the Spanish counterpart 4-2 at the Viveiro Stadium in Nazaré.
Knowing that it was only up to herself to lift the trophy, the corner team took an early advantage through Rúben Brilhante.
The Spanish still equalized thanks to Javi Torres’s goal, but the team led by Mario Narciso quickly reacted thanks to goals from Bruno Torres and Jordan Santos.
Already in the third and last triumph, the Portuguese team expanded the advantage, to the ride of Belchior. The sixth and final goal of the afternoon was by Chiki, in a beautiful bicycle kick.
Portugal thus revalidates the title won last year. After all, of the 27 editions of the Beach Soccer World Championship, five went to the teams’ history. This was achieved thanks to an immaculate record, the result of triumphs over Senegal (7-1), Japan (4-2) and Spain (4-2).
