Ramón Galarza presents “Symetrix Universe” in June

Recordings with the Philharmonic Orchestra on the 27th and 28th of April in Porto

The renowned musician and producer Ramón Galarza are preparing a new project: “Symetrix Universe“, which will be released in June. An instrumental record, with a fusion approach between the influences of classical and contemporary music, performed by the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa.

On the 27th and 28th of April, the musician will be in Porto to record with the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa, at the Arda Recorders studios. The Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Osvaldo Ferreira, will interpret Ramón Galarza’s compositions and orchestrations.

Founded in May 2016 by Osvaldo Ferreira and Augusto Trindade, the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa is widely recognized, by the public and critics, as one of the best national symphonic orchestras. The high standards of quality and demand imposed since its inception, lead it to integrate a group of musicians with a high technical and artistic level of the most varied nationalities, such as instrumentalists awarded in national and international competitions, former members of the Orquestra Jovem from the European Union and foreign musicians residing in Portugal.

The Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra has the Artistic Direction of maestro Osvaldo Ferreira, one of the most representative national conductors today.

RAMÓN GALARZA
Ramón Galarza has a career spanning over 45 years in the Portuguese music scene: the musician studied piano, percussion, solfeggio, and harmony and began his musical career in 1976, as a drummer in various musical groups, and as a studio musician, having collaborated with several names of national music.

In 1980 he was one of the elements of Banda Sonora, with Rui Veloso, having participated in the albums “Ar de Rock”, “Um café e um bagaço”, “Fora de Moda”, “Rui Veloso”, among others.

From 1983 he dedicated himself to music production and was responsible for several albums that were relevant in music in Portugal. As an orchestrator, he participated in several festivals, such as RTP da Canção, and also in contests in Bulgaria, Malta, Spain, the United States, Turkey, Paraguay, and Brazil.

In 1986 he founded his music production company, Tchatchatcha, with its own recording studios, where distinguished names in national music are recorded and audio content from various areas is produced.

On television Ramón Galarza has participated as a musician in multiple programs. His activity in this area extended as a music producer for RTP, participating in 11 Eurovision Festivals; as producer and musical director of the television series “Rua Sésamo”, “In Portuguese we understand”, “Jardim da Celeste”, among others. “Clássicos Disney” and “Uma História a dia”, were other of his productions, in this case for Disney.

With Herman José, he was a musical director and drummer in the programs “O Tal Canal”, “Hermanias” and “Crime na Pensão Estrelinha”.

From 1988, he worked with Xutos e Pontapés, with whom he co-produced the albums “88”, “Gritos Mudos” and the singles “Submissão” and “Tuai”. He played as the band’s keyboardist for two years.

Ramón Galarza has also worked with Rão Kyao, Banda do Casaco, Doce, Afonsinhos do Condado, Carlos Paião, Dulce Pontes, Rita Guerra, Beto, Dino Meira, Marco Paulo, Adelaide Ferreira, Gato Fedorento, Berg, among many others.

Ramón Galarza wrote the incidental soundtracks for the telenovelas “Último Beijo”, “Jóia de África”, “Saber Amar”, “Amanhecer”, “Coração Malandro”, “Morangos com Açúcar” and “Queridas Feras”.

He was also a judge on the shows “Chuva de Estrelas” and “Ídolos”.

In 2009 he edited his first solo album, “Herr G-51.11”, which he continued, in 2018, with the album “GALARZA”, signed by his new group Ramón Galarza´s Band.

At the end of 2021, he released the album “Qu’est-qui se Passe” which features a Jazz / Fusion inspired sound, with an approach to World Music.

In 2022, at Coliseu do Porto, he was responsible for the musical direction of the show “A Festa do Circo”.

In 2023 he is realizing a dream with his project “SYMETRIX UNIVERSE”: an instrumental work performed by the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra.
