Restaurante Dalí, the deliciously Surreal Cuisine

Located in Campo de Ourique in Lisbon, is the cozy restaurant, full of dishes that take us to travel the world, a delicious meal served with great friendliness.
The Dalí restaurant, at Rua da Infantaria 16, n° 43, serves “homemade” gastronomic dishes from various parts of the world and delights anyone who has been going there for three years. Its foundation is Chef Carol, whose passion for food is only matched, as she herself refers, “to her passion for teaching”.
When we arrived we were welcomed by the second biggest asset of the House, Miriam, who with her big smile and friendliness, immediately put us at ease, offering us a cocktail accompanied by herb butter, seasoned olives, buttered cheese, warm bread, everything served to work up an appetite while we waited.
Dalí, Cozinha Surreal, intends to offer everyone who goes there typical dishes from various parts of the world, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal (of course), passing through America, going to India.
As Carol says, the dream is that whoever goes to the restaurant enjoys good food, as if they were at home.
And then began a gastronomic experience that will remain in your memory Shrimp on the Clothesline, Brie Cheese Puff Pastry with Honey and Nuts, Brás Codfish Loin, Lagareiro-style Octopus, Sun-dried Meat Arrangement, Black Spaghetti with Prawns, Moussaka, just to highlight some dishes, all accompanied by a list of world beers and the best Portuguese wines.
After this gastronomic experience, we had a little chat with Tavinho and Carol, who are also experts in the art of hospitality, they told us that they come from Brazil, having landed in Portugal five years ago, and never left. It was the trips they both took that shaped the menu now presented at the restaurant, with its preparation having been idealized by Carol.
Questioned about the decoration, Tavinho mentions that the “Restaurant has, along with the food ‘from here’ and ‘there’, a decoration also based on the music ‘from here’ and ‘from there’, as the entire restaurant is upholstered with covers of records, with cymbals and with guitars”.
It is Tavinho’s dream that diners can choose the music they want to listen to while enjoying their meal, simply by having the customer touch one of the many covers scattered around the space, a fact that is already being considered.
