Slimmy is presenting the most recent single to be taken from the album “Close Enough to be Seen, Far Enough Away to be Safe”: the new theme features Nuno Norte.
“How Long can a Fool go Wrong” was recorded and produced during the pandemic with producer Mike More, according to Slimmy the theme speaks of “how much longer will we continue to be crazy trying to achieve our own dreams and not those that are imposed on us, following our path and not what they try to tell us is best, fighting to be ourselves until the end.”
It features the charismatic and powerful Nuno Norte, not only a friend of over 25 years but also one of Slimmy’s first influences, with his band Parkinson, which revolutionized rock in the city of Porto for the entire generation that grew up. In the ’90s.
Slimmy has been performing around the country presenting his 5th original album after completing 20 years of career. The title of the new album was inspired by a passage from the book “Hollywood” by Charles Bukowski, in particular a moment in Venice Beach in which the writer describes the ocean waves in this way: close enough to be seen, far enough away to be safe. Slimmy adopted this phrase as an analogy to his life, “being present and visible, but far from everything and (almost) everyone”.
