While we await the arrival of Slow J’s third album, the singer announces a concert for the biggest concert hall in the country. In 2024, he will perform live in a show that promises to be memorable, on March 8th, at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon.
Slow J is a mix. João Coelho was born in Setúbal, the son of a Portuguese mother and an Angolan father. Music has always been an intimate traveling companion. After discovering his passion for music creation, he flew to London, where he produced obsessively while studying sound engineering, returning to Portugal determined to enter a studio.
Between professional studios, guesthouses and his bedroom, João Coelho produced, wrote and sang his first two projects: “The Free Food Tape EP” (2015) and “The Art Of Slowing Down” (2017). He edited and distributed these first records independently, with the help of family and friends. In 2018 he was the executive producer of Papillon’s first solo album, “Deepak Looper”, and the following year he released his second LP: “You are Forgiven”.
This record is a labyrinthine inner journey of a Human Being who simply seeks to be himself and be happy. At this time, Slow J was heard all over the country, performing live on large stages and at the most relevant events. In 2020 he edited “Slo-Fi”, a homemade production that relaxes and takes the mind where the body cannot go and since then he has been withdrawn from the stage, dedicating himself to production. Despite this withdrawal, he continued to appear in the national music charts thanks to various collaborations with unavoidable names in our music such as Dino d’ Santiago, G Son, Ivandro, Richie Campbell, Sam The Kid, among others.
This year was marked by his return to the stage, with a very special concert at MEO Sudoeste, and by the release of new songs from his future album, such as “Where U @” and “Sem Ti”. In 2024, the singer will perform in a solo concert at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon, on March 8th.
