Tennis player Frederico Silva in the second round of Ningbo challenger

The Portuguese tennis player Frederico Silva qualified today for the second round of the Ningbo ‘challenger’ tournament by beating Chinese Jie Cui, a wild card player.

Frederico Silva, 234th in the world ranking, defeated Jie Cui, 627th in the ATP hierarchy, by 6-2 and 6-1, in an hour and 12 minutes of confrontation.

In the second round, the Portuguese player will face Tunisian Jaziri Malek, 149th in the world and ninth seed in the tournament on Tuesday, when Gonçalo Oliveira will face Colombian Nicolas Barrientos in the opening round match.
