The biggest rugby tournament in Europe brings three thousand young people to Lisbon
The 11th edition of the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival will bring to Lisbon three thousand young people from all over the world, with 118 teams from five continents playing in Europe’s biggest rugby tournament.
Among the 118 teams confirmed in the tournament organized by Move Sport, which will take place on 13 and 14 April at the Estádio Universitário in Lisbon, there are 63 Portuguese and 55 foreigners.
The foreign teams, which this year record the record of participation, represent the five continents and some of the most prestigious nations of rugby, as is the case of England, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, France, Wales, and the United States. Teams from Namibia, Zimbabwe, Sweden, Luxembourg, Gibraltar, Belgium, Spain, Italy, and Qatar will also be present.
The Portugal Rugby Youth Festival contests in the under-13, under-15, under-17, and under-19, and under-15 and under-19 women.
“During the two days of the competition, the teams will make a total of 350 games, with the final of all levels to be held on Sunday afternoon. The tournament allows young people between the ages of 12 and 18 to live an intense sporting experience, but also create bonds of friendship and share the fundamental values of rugby, such as respect for the opponent, the spirit of sacrifice and teamwork, “the organization said in a statement.
The festival, which in previous editions had a daily attendance of 15 thousand people, counts on a zone of restoration and leisure and still a fun park dedicated to the youngest and the entrance is free.
