Turkish artist Ece Canli launches ‘Vox Flora, Vox Fauna’ in Porto
Edited by Lovers & Lollypops, the disc is accompanied by serigraphy, by Oficina Arara, in which a code will be published to download the disc, whose live presentation is scheduled for the same day, at Teatro Municipal Rivoli, in Porto.
[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ecorded in an artistic residency in Alpendurada, “Vox Fauna, Vox Flora” was born from a concert-performance that Ece Canli was developing, and is the singer’s first solo record, part of a duo with the harpist Angélica Salvi, from Live Low and the Cobra’Coral trio.
Throughout eight songs, the artist and researcher combines the voice, through the use of extended vocal techniques, with synthesizers and other digital sounds.
Graduated in design from the University of Porto and in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Konstfack, Sweden, Ece Canli works, in addition to her activity as a musician and performer, as a researcher at the Center for Communication and Society Studies at the University of Minho, and founded the collective Decolonizing Desin (‘Decolonize design’, in free translation).
