The BIG 2021 National Award has 182 works in competition by 65 authors.
Tomorrow, September 11th, the opening of the third edition of the BIG – Biennial of Illustration of Guimarães takes place. It will be the first day of celebration of illustration in 2021 in Guimarães.
The following prizes will be awarded: Grand Prix BIG, consisting of a diploma and a monetary value of €5,000 (five thousand euros); BIG Revelation Award, consisting of a diploma and a monetary value of €1,000 (one thousand euros); and 5 BIG Acquisition Awards, consisting of a diploma and a monetary value of €500 (five hundred euros), each.
The BIG – Biennial of Illustration of Guimarães is an initiative of the Municipality of Guimarães, with the production of MOTOR – Cultural Production – Limited Liability Cooperative, Crl., with the objective of dignifying the role of illustrators in cultural development, in the field of edition, books, magazines, newspapers, posters, classic mass communication media and in the domain of new technologies, allied to the reference of Guimarães, as a territory of recognized national and international interest, in the movement of critical mass promotion and in the creation in the area of illustration.
