The third edition of the Festival of Lyric Song of Guimarães will take place on the next 18th and 19th of September.
The Guimarães Lyric Song Festival is back with several shows taking place on the weekend of September 18th and 19th. With the theme “Discovering a hidden city, a World Heritage Site”, the first ones will take place on the 18th, at 4 pm, from Rua D. João I to Zona de Couros.
On the same day, at 9.30 pm, at Centro Cultural Vila Flor, the performance will take place with the Orquestra do Norte, Marco Alves dos Santos and André Henriques.
On Sunday, September 19, a concert by the Companhia de Ópera de Setúbal is scheduled, at 9.30 pm, in the large auditorium of Centro Cultural Vila Flor.
This is a music festival of operatic origin and genealogy, aimed at the cult and development of the lyrical voice and musical composition, “with a view not only to a musically cultured audience but to all audiences motivated by cultural enjoyment and knowledge, on the assumption that the operatic lyrical tradition is the best that human culture has built and continues to build, increasing the cognitive and cultural horizons of humanity”, explains the Association of Mutual Aid Artistic Vimaranense (ASMAV) responsible for organizing the event with the support of the Municipality of Guimarães.
