The cultural quarter of Gaia mobilized to celebrate the month of romance. Exhibitions, museum activities, live music, themed menus to celebrate the couple and a dinner that celebrates self-love.
There are options for all tastes and for all marital statuses.
In February all roads lead to WOW. On Valentine’s Day, all WOW restaurants will have a menu specially created to add flavour to dinners for two. For the most passionate and greedy hearts, we highlight the proposal of the Pip restaurant, where all the pizzas on the menu, with the exception of the Calzone, will be served in the shape of a heart, on the 14th. For passions with more refined tastes, the 1828 restaurants and Baron Fladgate have more refined proposals. In addition, there will be live music. 1828 receives a cello and harp duo. Baron Fladgate proposes the company of a voice and piano duo.
In addition, and because this year’s Valentine’s Day is celebrated on a Monday, WOW proposes special moments from the 12th to the 14th of February. At Suspiro Café, there is a Pink Afternoon Tea to share with two (€28, 2 people). These days, tea is replaced by a sparkling rosé, duly accompanied with scones and pies, because love wants to be well fed. On the same dates, the Angel’s Share wine bar serves a Poção do Amor (22€, 2 people), paired with Vinte Vinte chocolates, fruit and the best view over the Douro River – in a romantic atmosphere like nowhere else.
For the weekend of the 12th and 13th, there is brunch and DJ at the VP restaurant. It’s worth waking up without haste and dating until hunger hits, brunch is served from 10 am to 6 pm. For the more nocturnal couples, there is a concert by the duo Andor Violeta, on Saturday at 10pm at Angel’s Share.
At the Chocolate Museum, there is a tasting workshop on the theme “Love is blind” (14€). A heart-melting experience, Saturday and Sunday at 6 pm. For those who prefer more cultural options, The Bridge Collection museum presents “Luxury and Love: a conversation between cupids” (17€). It takes place on Saturday and Sunday at 3 pm. There is also the combined option: “Proofs of Love at The Bridge Collection Museum” + Workshop “Love is Blind” at the Chocolate Museum (25€), also on Saturday and Sunday, but this time at 4 pm.
At the WOW Gallery, there is also the exhibition “Namorar Portugal”, a joint initiative of WOW and the Vila Verde City Council, with free admission, which is an excellent proposal for all those who visit WOW.
Without Valentine’s dinner at Mira Mira
Those not hit by Cupid’s arrow are also entitled to a party. On Saturday night, February 12th, WOW promotes the Without Valentine’s dinner at the Mira Mira restaurant. The program includes a cocktail, menu and party with DJ Dayo. It’s worth going alone, as a couple or in a group, the important thing is to bring the desire to celebrate the love… self.
