“Nome de Mulher” is the first advance for Stereossauro’s new album, “Tristana“, scheduled for release this quarter.
It features the singer Ana Magalhães, a new voice that the musician and producer discovered and wanted to make known. “Nome de Mulher” also features the participation of Ricardo Gordo, an excellent master of the Portuguese guitar and longtime collaborator of Stereossauro.
“Nome de Mulher” is a song about a woman who fearlessly faces someone who deceived her, a woman who doesn’t let herself be, who lives full of her strength, her spirit, and her nature.
The illustration for the cover of the new Stereossauro album is by Tamara Alves, a Portuguese visual artist, and illustrator with works recognized in several countries, who captured in this image the essence of the street and urban context of this new sentimental guerrilla fado. Tamara Alves has been building a narrative that celebrates, in a raw and poetic way, the vitality of strong sensations, of an animal becoming, of raw passion, as opposed to rational deliberation.

Stereosaurus
Stereossauro already has a significant musical repertoire, both albums in its own name and productions for other artists. A self-taught musician with an academic background in Industrial Design, his record production highlights the fusion of traditional fado with electronic music, with emphasis on the instrumental remix of “Verdes Anos” by master Carlos Paredes, in 2007, and also the acclaimed “Bairro da Ponte”, in 2018, being the pioneer and main driver of “New Fado”. In his DJ career, he was twice world scratch champion together with DJ Ride (Beatbombers, 2011 and 2016), by the IDA International DJ Association, and has performed multiple times in clubs and festivals, in Portugal and abroad.
Ana Magalhães
Ana Magalhães is a self-taught fado singer, with academic training in Graphic Design. Her musical journey is rooted in passing through several fado houses where, in an organic way, she learned to sing and feel fado in its purest state, where tradition happens. It is the first time that she records a studio album, it will be her first contribution to Portuguese culture. Ana Magalhães is a new voice to discover on the new Stereossauro album.
