Ukrainian women in the spotlight at Amoreiras Shopping Center

Running until May 31 at Amoreiras Shopping Center, the exhibition “Embroidered Hope” is a solidarity initiative dedicated to women in Ukraine, created to raise funds, raise awareness and inspire people around the world, in this moment of humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

Organized by the “Art for Freedom Association”, founded by Anastasiya Molchanova and Kateryna Savchenko de Oliveira, in collaboration with the Mundicenter Group, which manages Amoreiras Shopping Center, “Embroidered Hope” brings portraits of Ukrainian women in a unique combination of photography and embroidered on canvas.

The images, captured in Lisbon by Portuguese and Ukrainian volunteer photographers, were illustrated by artists from around the world and embroidered by Ukrainian artisans of all ages, in Ukraine and Portugal, using Ukrainian folk symbology, typical ornamental styles, poems, and other currents. artistic.

In addition to appreciating the works on display, visitors to Amoreiras have the opportunity to purchase works or make donations. Part of the proceeds from sales will go to the Ukrainian NGO “Masha Foundation”, namely the “Unbreakable Mom” project, which supports women and children victims of violence, trauma, and war in Ukraine.

The exhibition, which is on display on the 1st floor, aims to convey ideals of resilience, peace, unity, love, and courage, using the example of Ukrainian women to highlight the indomitable spirit of the people of Ukraine, which inspires people around the world to face times difficult with hope.
