Tony, the documentary film about the life and work of Tony Carreira, opened on July 25 and has already set a record. It is the most viewed documentary ever in national theaters, with 36,826 viewers, reveals a statement from NOS Audiovisuais sent to newsrooms.

The film dethroned previous record holder: Carlos Saura’s ‘FADOS’, who ‘captured’ 34,382 viewers in national theaters.

The documentary, directed by Jorge Pelicano, shows the “personal and professional life of Tony Carreira, accompanying him during the last year, in successive national and international tours”.
