On the 18th, 19th and 20th of September, the Maia City Council, through the Department of Culture, produced by Trovas Soltas, promotes the second edition of the Maia Blues Fest – International Blues Festival.
On the first day of the festival, on September 18, we will be able to attend concerts by two of the most relevant projects in the area of Blues in the Iberian peninsula: the Portuguese Peter Storm & The Blues Society and the Spanish Veronica Sbergia Blues Quartet.
Peter Storm & The Blues Society
José Reis, Jorge Oliveira, Bino Ribeiro and João Belchior: four experienced Blues musicians who participated and played in bands such as Johnny Blues Band, Minnemann Blues Band, Judy Blues Eyes Band, The Smokestackers, just to name a few.
Their quality as musicians and stage presence are recognized by their peers and that is why they are frequently invited to collaborate with international bands that travel to Portugal for isolated concerts or blues festivals such as Shanna Waterstown and Trevor Sewell, among so many others.
Veronica Sbergia Blues Quartet
Dario Polerani, Max de Bernardi, Chino Swingslide and Veronica Sbergia have a mission as a quartet: to provide the perfect show between swing, hokum, blues, gospel and ragtime, which will not disappoint anyone and much less be bored.
Virtuosity, creativity, energy, seasoned with a powerful dose of humor guarantee a wonderful musical moment and a great night in the Exterior Auditorium of the Maia Forum.
Maia Blues Fest – International Blues Festival
Framed in the celebrations of the “500 Years of the Foral da Maia“, this event with free access, is another accomplishment that embodies the strategy of bringing Mayans to culture in its multiple expressions, enhancing social elevation, creativity, and multiculturalism.
We stress since now that all the measures advised by the General Health Directorate have been and will be taken into account during the duration of the Maia Blues Fest – International Blues Festival. Entrance to the event is free, but space is limited.
Maia Blues Fest 2020 will take place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of September 2020 in the outer auditorium of the Maia Forum.
