APOL develops market study on logistics operators in Portugal

The current Direction of the Portuguese Association of Logistic Operators (APOL) is developing a market study with the objective of diagnosing the sector of logistics operators in Portugal.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he lack of knowledge in this sector, which proved to be essential and critical in this phase that we live in, and which is responsible for generating many jobs in the national territory, led the Association to look for partners who would help it to understand which market players and their value propositions.

This survey aims to present concrete information about the sector in the country, namely the services provided, the existing logistics infrastructures, the storage capacity, the information systems used, the number of employees, and the type of customers/sectors of activity.

It is crucial to understand the current challenges and concerns of logistics operators, and their prospects for the future.

The Association has as a partner the School of Business Sciences, of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, which will develop this study through research work by Master’s students in Business Sciences.

APOL also has the partnership of Supply Chain Magazine as a Media Partner of this project.

APOL is an association whose mission is to boost the country’s competitiveness by promoting logistical subcontracting. Chaired by Nuno Rangel for the 2019 – 2021 triennium, it reinforces the commitment to contribute actively and decisively to the future of the logistics sector and the consequent development of the national economy.
