On the 13th, the initiative will focus on the Interpretive Center of Angra do Heroísmo, with three round tables:
- “NEW CHALLENGES OF SUSTAINABILITY IN TOURISM”
As the Azores are the first sustainable archipelago in the world, this debate invites reflection on the challenges that this important status poses to the region, namely in terms of its ability to respond to tourist demand. The role of Turismo de Portugal in mobilizing all agents and civil society in promoting sustainability will also be discussed, as well as in the new incentive systems for Azorean companies. - “DIGITALIZATION IN CATERING AND ACCOMMODATION”
This panel will focus on the impact that digitalization has had on the operations and processes of catering and hospitality companies. Some of the main digital technologies that are being adopted in these sectors to improve the customer experience will also be discussed. - “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT THE SERVICE OF TOURISM”
In this last debate, the processes and challenges of applying artificial intelligence in catering and hospitality companies will be addressed. Looking to the future, the impacts of artificial intelligence on employment and the workforce in companies in the tourism sector will also be discussed.
The 14th will be dedicated to workshops on sustainability, IT security solutions, and the automatic introduction of invoices using artificial intelligence.
The initiative is jointly organized by AHRESP and CCAH, with co-financing from the Azores 2020 Programme, within the scope of the Qualprotur project (Qualification and Promotion of Tourism Offers), and with the support of the municipal councils of Angra do Heroísmo and Praia of Victory.
