The British original series is produced by 72 Films and MGM Alternative in collaboration with the producers of James Bond, and will premiere later this year exclusively on Prime Video worldwide.
Prime Video today reveals that Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning Scottish actor Brian Cox (Succession) has been cast as “The Controller”, the enigmatic character who controls the fates of contestants in the upcoming British original series, 007’s Road. to a Million, which will soon be available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The program is a competition where contestants have to go through a great adventure to win the final prize of one million pounds. Filmed in various iconic Bond locations – from the Scottish Highlands to Venice and Jamaica – the cinematic format will be a true testament to intelligence, endurance, and heroism. In addition to overcoming obstacles, the competitors, who will compete in teams of two people, must correctly answer questions hidden in different places around the world to move on to the next challenge.
The Controller is a cult villain and enjoys the trips and increasingly difficult questions the contestants must overcome. He has millions of pounds to offer, up to a million per pair, but he doesn’t make the process easy. While lurking in the shadows, he is watching and controlling everything.
“I got to see how normal people would deal with the feeling of being in a James Bond adventure. As they travel the world to some of Bond’s most iconic locations, the game becomes more intense and interesting. I enjoyed my role as both villain and tormentor, with a license to put participants to the test,” says Brian Cox.
007’s Road to a Million is a collaboration between Amazon Studios, EON Productions, 72 Films and MGM Alternative.
