Casino Estoril hosts the oldest International Salon of Naïf Art in the world
Casino Estoril will host, from July 28th, the 40th edition of the International Naïf Painting Salon. Held uninterruptedly, since 1980, at the Art Gallery, the International Naïve Painting Salon at Casino Estoril is the oldest in the world, being considered a reference in this pictorial modality. Admission is free.
Indeed, since the first edition, more than 500 artists have painted the walls of the Casino Estoril Art Gallery in the month of August, presenting approximately 5300 works.
In the 40th edition of this emblematic collective exhibition, works by the following artists will be on display: A.Réu, Albino José Moreira, Alcindo Barbosa, Arménio Ferreira, Bento Sergeant, Conceição Lopes, Dulce Ventura, Elza Filipa, Fernanda Azevedo, Jorge Serafim, Josep Mir, Juan Guerra, Manuel Castro, Maria Tereza, Nell, Rute Castro and Silva Vieira.
It is also worth highlighting the debut of Jorge Serafim, the Alentejo comedian, who for the first time exhibits some of his works, showing the public a versatility hitherto less known. His paintings are of undeniable quality, with a good dose of humor that characterizes him, and are based on the illustrations with which he usually colors his books, novels and children’s books, recently edited.
In compliance with all the rules and recommendations established by the Directorate-General for Health – DGS, this year there will not be the usual inaugural ceremony of this collective exhibition of Naïf art.
The Art Gallery will host, from July 28th to September 15th, the 40th International Naïve Painting Salon. This collective show can be visited during the opening hours of Casino Estoril.
