“Feeding a Cause” is a partnership between the Serralves Foundation and the Catholic University.
On February 25th, at 11 am, at the Serralves Foundation Library, Marta Rosas, professor at the Porto School of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal, will speak about “Law, monitoring and inclusion: What has changed and what remains can it change?”
A session integrated into the “Feeding a Cause” Conversation Cycle, an initiative promoted by the Serralves Foundation, in scientific partnership with the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto.
We heard about several legislative changes and innovations regarding support for people in vulnerable situations. For example, we know that, recently, the new Accompanied Adult Regime became part of the Portuguese Civil Code, replacing the old interdiction and disqualification measures. What has changed? On the other hand, the Independent Life Support Model continues its path towards full practical implementation, the new Law brought important news in terms of strengthening autonomy and, from another perspective, the protection of informal caregivers also has deserved important legislative impulses.
In this session, Marta Rosas will answer questions such as: What are the objectives and potential of the new legal regimes? Knowing the different means of support is vital, making room for community responsibility and family solidarity. And, in the future, what is the path forward? What remains to be done?
The session “Law, monitoring and inclusion: What has changed and what can still change?”, is part of the Conversation Cycle “Feeding a Cause”, an initiative promoted by the Serralves Foundation, in scientific partnership with the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, will take place on February 25th, at 11 am, at the Serralves Foundation Library.
