A collaboration between musicians Jorge Palma and Dead Combo is the first confirmation for the festival Douro Rock, which takes place between August 9 and 10, in the city of Peso da Régua, announced today the organization.
The festival, which stands on the banks of the Douro River in the district of Vila Real, assumes “100% Portuguese” and space where “new generations of music intersect with more consecrated names.”
The organization said it has launched a challenge to Jorge Palma and the Dead Combo that will share the stage for “an unprecedented collaboration” in the fourth edition of the event.
These are the first known poster names for 2019.
In the edition of 2018, passed by the festival about 14 thousand people.
The Douro Rock, according to the organization, “presents itself as an alternative in the concurred calendar of festivals in Portugal and invites the public to know the region to the sound of national music.”
Tickets for the Douro Rock are already on sale and cost 15 euros, single price for the two days.
Douro Rock, in addition to promoting Portuguese music, wants to spread the gastronomy and wines of this region as the first demarcated and regulated region in the world and was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
With free camping for ticket holders for the festival and a feeding area, the Douro Rock also counts on the presence of local wine brands.
