EPICENTRO – Center Region Musical Seismograph
EPICENTRO intends to bring to the road the effervescence of the current moment of music made in the Centro Region, with a special focus on Coimbra. As a musical seismograph, EPICENTRO takes stock of the region’s musical situation, taking its pulse and disseminating emerging proposals, while valuing established names in a blend of experiences and aesthetic approaches.
Since the 1990s, the Centro Region has been the embryo of musical proposals that have borne fruit for decades to come. The cultural production associated with music in this region, which includes cities such as Coimbra, Leiria, Aveiro, Alcobaça and Viseu, has been solidly reinforced in recent years, but more than the isolated creation has been a phenomenon of collaborations and sharing that seeks to create something new or at least renewed. And with a brand of its own.
For the night of October 25, 2019, at the Sabotage Club, the poster includes three bands with embryos in Coimbra – d3ö, Tricycles and From Atomic -, joined by the Alcobacenses Plastic People. At the end of the concerts the party continues with DJs Pedro Chau and Nuno Rabino.
