FC Porto beats Ac. Viseu and is in the final with Benfica

FC Porto had no difficulties to win, on Wednesday night, the Academico de Viseu, 3-0, and ensure for the second consecutive year the presence in the final of the Portuguese Cup. This is the third meeting with Benfica this season, a match that is expected to be full of strong emotions.

After a draw at least surprising in the last week at Estádio do Fontelo, home of this team that works in the second league, FC Porto did not give space to the foreign team could even aspire to a presence in Jamor and achieved an unquestionable triumph against the one that was, without a doubt, the main surprise of this edition of the Portuguese Cup.

Alex Telles (19), from a penalty, Zé Luís (64) and Sérgio Oliveira (72) scored the goals that allowed the ‘dragons’ to reach the 31st final of the Portuguese Cup, repeating last year’s presence against Sporting and it ended in a negative way for the dragons as they lost on penalties to the Alvalade club.

The meeting between Benfica, who eliminated Famalicão on Tuesday, and FC Porto is scheduled for next May 24. The two emblems will meet for the 10th time in a Cup final, 16 years after the last match, on May 16, 2004, when Benfica won 2-1, after extra time, in a match that happened days before the FC Porto win the Champions League.
