The book “Nets of Hyphae“, which accompanies the homonymous exhibition by Diana Policarpo can be visited at the Municipal Gallery of Porto (GMP)
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s part of the symposium program “Spiritual Technologies – Ethnobotany within Witch Trials and the Capitalization of Health”, the launch will be presented by Guilherme Blanc, currently artistic director of Batalha – Centro de Cinema, artist Diana Policarpo and Stefanie Hessler, curator of the exhibition “Nets of Hyphae” and artistic director of Kunsthalle Throndheim, Norway, an institution that co-produced the exhibition at GMP.
The publication, also available for purchase at GMP, addresses the artist’s practice and the relationships created in the context of ancestral knowledge, the capitalization of health, the rights of women and LGBTQ + people, mysticism and alchemy from artistic perspectives, curatorial and historical. The book features contributions from Stefanie Hessler and Guilherme Blanc, curator and researcher Margarida Mendes, Norwegian historian Rune Blix Hagen, writer and editor Emmy Bebber and curator and art historian Katrine Elise Pedersen.
The book is co-published by the Municipal Gallery of Porto, Kunsthall Trondheim and Mousse Publishing, with the support of the Arts Council Norway and design by João M. Machado.
