Insights Talks 2020 discuss advantages and disadvantages of teleworking
The Insights Talks 2020 debate cycle resumes this Wednesday, July 8, with another virtual round table dedicated to the theme “Teleworking generates or not more productivity (advantages and disadvantages)”. The initiative is from LabEST – Laboratory of Entrepreneurship, Society and Technology, in partnership with the coordination of the Management degree at the Piaget de Almada Institute and the support of the Management Summit team.
In this online debate, scheduled to start at 9 pm, the guests will talk about the new models for making work more flexible, accelerated dramatically by the current Covid-19 pandemic. In a phase in which teleworking broke into the day-to-day activities of organizations, it is important to think about how it is possible to ensure the monitoring of the respective employees, both in terms of productivity and motivation. All this making this organizational model compatible, which will tend to remain high in the post-pandemic cycle, with the need to reconcile with the contingencies of personal and family life.
For those who until recently believed in the importance of team spirit, human contact and interpersonal relationships, one of the central questions is to assess how these (intangible) values will be reconciled, in the long run, with the involvement of employees in their organizations and the quality of work.
The guest panel will feature three speakers connected to the business world: Carlos Vasconcelos, president of Medway and member of the MSC Portugal board; Anabela Ventura, country manager of LHH | DBM Portugal, human resources consultant, specialized in outplacement (executive relocation), leadership development and change management, and Alexandre Real, partner of Sfori consultant and member of the Rock in Rio Academy coordination team.
The moderation will be in charge of Luís Fonseca, consultant and general director of BigQuestion.
Next week (July 16), the Insights Talks 2020 cycle will end with a debate on the topic “What companies are looking for in the digitalisation race”, with three leading managers linked to the areas of technology and innovation.
