After more than five years Macy Gray, now with the project “California Jet Club”, was back, for two concerts, the first in Lisbon and today in Porto, and those who were present can hear all his “soul” on stage.
The American singer who with “On How Life is” in 1999, reached stardom almost instantly, with the mega success “I Try“, reached the American top and sold 7 million copies around the world, the albums were then succeeding, adding 10 original works and presences all over the world in concerts and festivals.
Macy Gray, now with keyboardist Billy Wes, drummer Tamir Barzilay and bassist Alex Kyhn, experiences a new phase in his career, with sounds that range from pop, country, jazz and punk, with whom he released the album “The Reset”.
The Lisbon concert included the themes of the new album but also hits by Macy and other artists who had the audience dancing and singing with the band, made up of very talented multi-instrumentalists, was featured, in a short break for singer and changing clothes, Alex Kyhn on bass playing, “We Are The Champions” by Queen, “Fly Me to The Moon”, sung by Frank Sinatra.
One of the moments of the night was “Do Something“, with the audience screaming to ward off their problems, also inviting them to get up and dance “nobody cares if you can’t dance, the important thing is that you’re happy“, added.
But of course “I Try” already finished was the icing on the cake, a unique moment of party and dance at Coliseu dos Recreios.
