Neneh Cherry confirmed at EDP COOL JAZZ on July 22nd
Neneh Cherry is the third confirmation on EDPCOOLJAZZ. The composer is a generational reference, having her music celebrated by the cultural crossover of sound mixes between hip-hop, R&B, Soul, and Jazz. The most recent work “Broken Politics” (2018) was especially celebrated by international critics.
For January 2020, the artist has pointed to a much celebrated reprint of Raw Like Sushi (1989), which will perform on a single night at the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome at EDPCOOLJAZZ.
The latest work featured the production of guru Four Tet, a kind of wizard of a new generation of electronic music, who managed to resize Neneh Cherry’s intact talent, a name linked to a timeless imaginary such as “Woman”, “Buffalo Stance ”and the 90s super single titled“ 7 Seconds ”, a partnership with Youssou N`Dour. July 22 will be a unique night where Neneh Cherry, who has always stood out for being a strong personality, will take the audience to travel through her 5 edited albums.
Daughter of Swedish mother and father of Sierra Leone, Neneh is born in Stockholm, but soon exchanges Europe for the United States of America (New York). In the USA, the artist discovered the first sounds of hip hop and soul, but during adolescence she moves back to Europe, but this time to the United Kingdom (London). The maturity of a work with a lot of personality is evident in a career that goes back over 3 decades of history and finally comes to a night of delivery and celebration in the 2020 edition of EDPCOOLJAZZ.
For the same stage as the hippodrome Manuel Possolo, the names of world pop culture icon John Legend on 3 July and international music legend Lionel Richie on 25 July are already confirmed.
