Maria João is going to edit a new album with her project OGRE to celebrate 10 years of existence: “Open Your Mouth”.
In her third foray into the world of electronics, Maria João encourages us to open our mouths to sing, speak, love and fight for what we believe.
OGRE is now moving in a more urban direction, with more hip-hop oriented grooves, mixed with Maria João’s childish joy, on a journey that takes us to dreamy landscapes, dark and mysterious forests, African rhythms, and even to the interior of our crazy minds!
Exploring, never staying in the same place, always looking for new things – this will always be the motto of this project, which is sometimes difficult to define … but also, who needs labels?
In addition to the basic training, which includes João Farinha (keyboards, synthesizers, composition and production) and André Nascimento in electronic witchcraft, the new album also features the incredible drummer Silvan Strauss who never forgets to break all the dishes and that is partly responsible for the new sound direction.
