Thermalism is going through a notorious development phase, especially in the interior areas of the country, helping to consolidate structural and sustainable tourism projects
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Piaget Institute will promote on Friday, June 5, starting at 3 pm, a webinar (online seminar) on Thermalism, Health Tourism and Wellness. With free access to all interested parties, upon prior registration, the event has a panel of experts in the area, moderated by Professor Gustavo Desouzart, a professor at the Piaget Institute of Viseu, the organization that organizes the webinar.
Thermalism has been an added factor of tourist attraction for the country due to the diversity offered in its products associated with natural mineral water resources. The sector is now a rapidly growing area, especially in the interior areas, both in terms of well-being and in the therapeutic area.
This growth, as recognized by experts, will certainly contribute to the increase in the quality of the services provided and, consequently, to the reinforcement of the demand for thermal activities, allowing the consolidation of structural, attractive and sustainable tourism projects.
The Piaget Institute has been investing heavily in this area, with the offer of courses such as postgraduate studies in Thermalism and, more recently, with the new Technical Higher Professional Course (CTeSP) in Thermalism and Wellness.
The virtual round table on Friday will include the participation of Jorge Mangorrinha, associate professor at the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies and senior staff at the Lisbon City Council; Tânia Malaquias, physiotherapist at the Medical Center of Viseu and at the Sulfurosas Termas de Alcafache (Viseu); and Nelson Ferreira Albuquerque, physician of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, at the Centro Hospitalar Tondela-Viseu, and responsible for the Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Program, at Termas de São Pedro do Sul.
The event intends to assume itself as the much-needed reflection on the current situation of spa in Portugal, its challenges and growth prospects.
