Ruben Portinha’s new album on sale today

Here comes Ruben Portinha’s second album. It is called “Tinha de Arriscar” and has twelve themes, all signed by the musician.

Written in Portuguese, the twelve songs range from pop, rock, and funk, with a nod to jazz. They talk about us, our world, our time, our strengths, our imperfections… and of course, the one that could not be missing: love.

After showing us “Realidade” in 2017, the musician returns in this peculiar year of 2020 with a new album, whose title keeps and summarizes the explanations and feelings that were at the origin of all this work.

“I had to take risks on several things: going on a second album, being more demanding with myself, making a greater material and immaterial investment… Basically, I had to risk trying to take a few more steps forward, being aware that they are just that, a few steps forward on a path that is long and difficult”, explains the artist.

Produced by Ruben Portinha (with contributions from all musicians), the album is presented in its own name but has a collective soul. With João Coelho on drums, Nuno Barreto on guitar, and Ricardo Duarte on bass, the band has now been reinforced with José Manuel David, one of the most brilliant and recognized national musicians, who assumed the role of keyboardist.

The five musicians were joined by four guests. The remarkable voices of Inês Trevo and Andreia Baleiras debut in the studio and on the albums, to which are joined the talented hyper composer, author and performer Pedro Vicente, and also the incredible Brazilian artist Marília Lopes who, among other things, made a fury in the RTP program The Voice Portugal 2018.

“They were handpicked voices, not only because I liked them all, but mainly because they represented exactly what I wanted for each theme. In addition, there are four fantastic human beings, four people that I like a lot and four artists with enormous potential who deserve a lot of people to hear them”, adds Ruben Portinha.

“Tinha de Arriscar” is an author’s edition, with digital distribution in charge of Farol Música.

On the same day that Ruben Portinha’s second album “Tinha de risque” arrives in stores, the artist, from Primetime Studios – the place where everything happened, presents one by one the 12 songs on this disc, which has the label of quality of Antenna 1.

With him will be studio accomplices (João Coelho on drums, José Manuel David on keys, Nuno Barreto on guitar and Ricardo Duarte on bass) and also special guests Inês Trevo and Pedro Vicente.
