‘Soul’ and ‘Wolfwalkers’ lead nominations for Annie awards

“Soul – A Soulful Adventure”, by Pete Docter and Kemp Powers, and “Wolfwalkers”, by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart, add up to ten nominations each, including Best Director, Production Design and Screenplay.

“Soul”, a Pixar production about a jazz teacher and musician looking for his soul, is nominated for best Animated Feature Film, while “Wolfwalkers”, a fantasy inspired by Ireland’s popular culture, is in the category of Best Independent Film .

With seven nominations each for Annie are Don Scanlon’s “Bora lá” and Glen Keane’s “Beyond the Moon”. In addition to “Soul”, for Best Animated Feature Film, “Bora lá”, “The Croods: A new era”, “The Willoughbys” and “Trolls world tour” are also indicated.

For best independent production film – category that has been the gateway to the Oscars – are named “Sheep Choné: The Fifth Strikes Back”, “Calamity Jane”, “On-Gaku: On Sound” and “Ride Your Wave” .

The Annie winners’ announcement ceremony will take place on April 16, in virtual mode.
