The Teatro Diogo Bernardes, in Ponte de Lima, reopens in September, coinciding with the 124th anniversary of the concert hall and with a schedule set for the last four months of 2020.
In times of adaptation of cultural spaces to the rules and guidelines of the General Directorate of Health, Diogo Bernardes Theater will continue its mission of public service of culture, in order to help people to resume cultural, recreational, enjoyment and leisure and, likewise, contributing to the economic recovery through the cultural sector which, in recent years, has been of enormous importance in local, regional, national and international terms.
The organization reveals that it is fully prepared to face the challenge of reopening the Diogo Bernardes Theater, in compliance with the competent Contingency Plan for holding indoor shows, since the recent experience of carrying out the most varied type of outdoor shows has paid off.
Thus, on the weekend of September 19, the schedule for the Commemoration of the 124 Years of Teatro Diogo Bernardes will start on September 18 with the concert by Márcia, followed by the concert by João Pedro Pais on the 19th, and on the 20th the first show for children, youth and families, an audience that has been one of our main priorities – the company Opera ISTO will present two sessions, in the afternoon, of the show A Rolha do Rei D’Aonde?
September ends with two shows. Firstly with theater, the responsibility of the company Palco 13, which brings us Shopping and Fucking with interpretation by João Jesus, Joaquim Horta, Rita Tristão da Silva, Romeu Vala and Vicente Wallenstein, on September 25th. On the 26th of the same month, the Best Youth concert.
In September we will resume the Há … Jazz at TDB, which will be held, for security reasons, only atDiogo Bernardes Theater, with the first performance on the 30th.
In spite of the fact that all the dates are already set, as it could not be otherwise, we will avoid the hassle of specifying them in this presentation for the months of October, November and December and in due time we will disclose all details.
In music, Outubro will bring to Diogo Bernardes Theater varied projects such as Noiserv, which will present its new album scheduled for September; Brigade Victor Jara; a concert by Associação Porta Jazz with the project by João Martins “100 ms”; Coimbra’s Fado through the voice of Dario Ribeiro; the always spectacular and original concert by Samuel Úria; and, for the first time, the integration of Diogo Bernardes Theater in the national festival Misty Fest, whose musical references are unique, presenting an unprecedented concert in debut, with two reference musicians of the new generation of national jazz: João Barradas & Ricardo Toscano.
