Yann Tiersen and Jorge Ben Jor confirmed for EDPCOOLJAZZ 2022
Yann Tiersen and Jorge Ben Jor are confirmed at the 17th edition of the EDPCOOLJAZZ festival, both of whom perform at the Hippodrome Manuel Possolo, in Cascais. Also confirmed in the next edition of the festival is John Legend, on July 2, 2022.
Yann Pierre Tiersen is one of the most important international composers in the art scene in recent years. Composer of iconic soundtracks, the artist will take the stage of EDPCOOLJAZZ on July 21, 2022 for a unique instrumental experience and also present the new album “Kerber” (with release scheduled for August 2021, by Mute Records). Tiersen is an avant-garde musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer, who masters instruments such as piano, accordion and violin. Throughout his career, he composed soundtracks for films such as “The Fabulous Fate of Amélie Poulain”, “Good Bye, Lenin!”, “What the Moon Reveals” or “Alice and Martin”. 1995, including ‘Le Phare’ (1998), ‘L’absente’ (2001) and ‘Dust Lane’ (2010), and six albums of film compositions, having edited in 2019 the album “All”.
Jorge Ben Jor is one of the “architects” of Brazilian popular music and works at EDPCOOLJAZZ on July 30, 2022. Musician with a fundamental role in designing a new approach to samba, mixing with elements of funk and rock, among many other genres. The classics in Jorge Ben Jor’s career follow each other and take on various genres such as “Taj Mahal”, “País Tropical”, “Chove Chuva”, “O Telefone Tocou Novamente”, “Oba La Vem Ela” and the hit world of “Mas, que nada!”, from 1963. The exemplary mixture of various elements of Brazilian popular culture is reflected in the work of the artist from Rio de Janeiro, considered by Rolling Stone Brasil one of the 5 most important artists in the entire history of MPB.
The 17th edition of the festival was initially scheduled for 2020, but was postponed a year due to the covid-19 pandemic. This year, the festival was postponed again due to the global situation caused by the covid-19 pandemic and consequently public health uncertainties.
Tickets for 2020 and 2021 are valid for the 2022 edition, no exchange is required. The promoter recalls that ticket holders are entitled to request a refund of the ticket price within 14 working days from the date scheduled for the event in 2021.
