Miguel Ângelo & Guests at Casino Lisboa
Miguel Ângelo is one of the most multifaceted artists and entrepreneurs on the national scene. Characterized by the optimistic aesthetics, popular proximity and discourse of innovation that have always been received with great empathy by the Portuguese public.
He founded the Delfins in 1984 at the age of 18 and in 1991 founded the group Resistance. In 1993 he opened the recording studios “1 Só Céu” and sold about one million records in the 1990s, breaking the national and international records of physical sales, until today, with “O Caminho da Felicidade” (1995) and “Saber Amar ”(1996), both of the Delphins.
Miguel Ângelo returned to solo in 2012 with the album “Primeira” (which included the hit single “Precioso”), after a 25-year career with the Delfins, among other projects such as Resistência (active) and the Movement. In 2015 he published the album “Segundo”, which includes a new version of “O Vento Mudou” (which the Delfins had debuted in 1984) in a duet with his legendary original performer Eduardo Nascimento (Portugal’s representative at the Festival Eurovision in 1967). In 2019 he returned to recordings, this time collaborating with names of the new Portuguese pop music, such as Filipe Sambado, D’Alva, Surma and Chinaskee.
“NOVA (POP)” is the set of songs created and produced in a creative exercise that Miguel Angelo started in 2019 with meritorious names in the new national music. Over the last few months we have been learning about the results of these collaborations, as well as the videos that illustrate them. “NOVA” was the first single to be presented and results from the direct action of Filipe Sambado and Chinaskee on Miguel Angelo’s demo, who with total freedom and autonomy participate in it and sign their production.
