Tricycles on tour
During March, the Tricycles are touring the country. After three concerts to launch the album in 2023 (Lisbon, Esmoriz, Coimbra), the band will now perform six shows in March, continuing the presentation of the second album White Sharks Don’t eat flowers, published by Lux Records, based on Coimbra.
Tricycles originate from Lisbon, with links to Coimbra. The quartet includes Sérgio Dias (drums), Rui Tiago Narciso (bass), Afonso Almeida (electric guitar, vocals) and João Taborda (vocals, acoustic guitar, keyboard).
For the band “being on the road is the nature of a self-respecting tricycle! It’s good to be able to think of the frozen desert of the pandemic as a distant nightmare, and to make up for it now with a series of concerts in such cool spaces as Club Farense, Clube de Tavira, CAAA in Guimarães or Cru in Famalicão! We are excited to share the new album with people. So far the reaction has been excellent and we want to continue to show that it’s worth diving with us and swimming with the sharks.”
The album White sharks don’t eat flowers is more mature, presenting a more raw and expansive sound while being more cohesive. Without restrictions or complexities, Tricycles move forward, freely absorbing and interpreting influences from the fertile lands of pop and rock. They now offer a kind of travel diary in fourteen stages, demonstrating that empathy and irony are still present in the band, even after a few doses of the vaccine.
White sharks don’t eat flowers was recorded at Blue House studios, with Henrique Toscano (Birds Are Indie) recording, mixing and mastering carried out by João Rui (Jigsaw / John Mercy), with production by João Taborda and Afonso Almeida, members of Tricycles itself.
