The biggest dinosaur ever seen in Portugal is arriving at Dino Parque da Lourinhã
Supersaurus will be the new resident of Dino Parque da Lourinhã. The largest dinosaur ever seen in Portugal and one of the largest in the world will be on display, starting May 28.
With an impressive 45 meters in length and inserted in a privileged place, its observation can be made from the Jurassic Tower of the Dino Parque da Lourinhã, a structure with 6 meters in height. The new resident of the dinosaur park, comprising an area of more than 10 hectares of open space, becomes part of the Dino Parque family, which already has more than 180 models of dinosaur species at full scale.
This fantastic dinosaur reigned about 150 million years ago, during the Jurassic period. Now, it is possible to admire the Supersaurus up close and the little ones will be amazed by the friendly giant. The herbivorous quadruped promises to surprise and arouse the curiosity of visitors who will be able to discover everything about this specimen, which is one of the best known dinosaurs in the world.
It weighed up to 25 tons and used its long tail as a whip when it was necessary to defend itself. Very peaceful and without causing damage, the Supersaurus model will arrive at Dino Parque and will take about four days to be assembled by a team of specialized professionals. For the operation, a crane, a forklift with a telescopic arm and 10 people will be needed to make it ready to receive visitors.
