The Portuguese swimmer failed to qualify for the final 200 meters butterfly, Ana Catarina Monteiro finished in 11th place, but still something we had never achieved.
Ana Catarina Monteiro, a 27-year-old swimmer from Vila do Conde, finished the race in the fifth position in the semi-final with a time of 2,09.82 minutes, which was won by the American Hali Flickinger with a time of 2,06.23 minutes.
The Portuguese were the first national swimmer to reach a semi-final in the 200m butterfly, she is also the national record holder.
