The 10th edition of the O Sol da Caparica Festival kicks off with a sold-out day

The first day of O Sol da Caparica was a sell-out, with 35,000 people in attendance, mostly young people, who came to see Plutónio, David Carreira, Julinho KSD, and Dillaz.

The date also features the opening act of Primos on the Digital Stage, which packed the amphitheatre at Parque Urbano da Costa da Caparica.

Today, August 15th, 11 more artists from the Portuguese-speaking world will take to the festival stages, and tickets are still available.

The 10th edition of the O Sol da Caparica Festival kicked off with 10 artists livening up the venue’s various stages for several hours of music. Doors opened at 4 p.m., and the audience moved quickly to secure a seat at the highly anticipated shows, both on the Sagres Stage and the recently opened Digital Stage.

The first day, which welcomed 35,000 people, confirmed early on that this edition will have a positive impact on the history of Sol da Caparica.

On the Sagres Stage, Neyna opened the afternoon with Cape Verdean music, thrilled to see the audience sing a cappella with her. Despite some nerves, this didn’t prevent a positive performance.

David Carreira was next, sharing a beautiful moment by bringing his family on stage, with his son interacting with thousands of festival-goers in a high-energy show that David enlivened with his warmth.

Julinho KSD warmed up the venue for a night where hip hop reigned supreme, with well-known songs and equally famous guests like Bluay and Ivandro. He also performed his new single, “Beira Mar,” for the first time, a gift received with great joy by the audience, who hugged him throughout the show and sang along to every song.

In the final stretch of the night, Dillaz performed songs from his latest album, O Próprio, and invited Julinho KSD to perform “Nota 100” with him. He also surprised the audience with “Homem da Sirene”—a song rarely featured in his shows—and led to a vibrant and energetic night that enchanted the many fans who packed the venue in Caparica.

The most anticipated moment was, of course, Plutónio, who began the concert in the middle of the audience and had his daughter, Francisca, on the violin. The night gained even more momentum when he welcomed Dillaz for “Alô, Tá Ocupada.” Plutónio wowed the fans and ended this first day of the O Sol da Caparica Festival with a bang, which promises to delight the audience today as well.

The Bandida Stage maintained a steady rhythm throughout the afternoon and evening: DJ Dadda opened with many festival-goers already close to the stage; Florito brought Neyna to sing their shared single “Kannot Compare”; Sertanejinho brought samba and Brazilian rhythms to the entire audience; Insert Coin closed with a show full of madness, energy, movement, and interaction with festival-goers.

Starting in the audience, João Paulo Sousa (presenter on SIC and entertainer on Rádio Comercial) and Joel Rodrigues (comedian and presenter of GTIPlus on TVI) quickly got the huge crowd dancing and singing along.
Over the past 10 years, they’ve graced the biggest stages in our country and performed for over 2 million people! Interaction is the right word; fun is the key.

Insert Coin is like a “television channel,” given its strong video component, featuring the best and most “cartoonish,” from commercials, to cartoons and series that have marked generations, to catch-ups… anything goes!

The Digital Stage, also a highlight, hosted the first live performance by Os Primos, curators of the stage. By 5 p.m., the amphitheatre was completely packed, with approximately 4,500 people inside and over 7,000 watching online. The usual livestream format, in which people react to videos, was adapted for the event, starting in the booth and extending outside, where they interacted directly with the audience, a model considered a success by those in attendance. Some of the fans were also invited to the stage to experience it up close.
