“At the table with Health”: kidney diseases in focus at the commented dinner

Preventing kidney diseases through diet brings together doctors and researchers in a gastronomic meeting, open to the public.

On May 10th, at 8:00 pm, the 4th edition of “At the table with Health” takes place, within the scope of the health literacy project of the Institute of Clinical and Biomedical Research of Coimbra (iCBR) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC) and the Coimbra School of Hotel and Tourism.

Created by chefs Emanuel Faria and Gonçalo Melo, the dinner aims to highlight the potential of a selection of foods, used in its preparation, in preventing kidney diseases.

The dinner will be tasted and simultaneously explained, with the scientific guidance of doctors and researchers from iCBR: Flávio Reis, Sofia Viana, Rui Alves, Ana Rita Silva and Pedro Castro.

The menu includes chicken lollipop, brunesa soup and rice with clams, cockles and seaweed with sardine and salicorn fillets. To finish, sponge cake with pear in Port wine and red fruits.
