António Zambujo presents “Cidade” at the Coliseus
António Zambujo will present Cidade live at the beginning of next year: February 3rd at the Coliseu de Lisboa and February 16th at the Coliseu do Porto. The musician’s tenth album is released on November 10th and is already on pre-sale at Fnac.
Entirely written and composed by Miguel Araújo, the album has 12 songs including the single Dancemos um “Slow” and also the already released “Lua”, “Uma Valsa Urgente”, “Romance de Cordel”, “Nas Bocas do Mundo”, “Saga Inaudita do Bom Jesus de Teibas”, “5 Minutos de Whisky”, “Céu” and “Sagitário”.
“As I was writing these songs, I became aware of a common subtext that ran through them, contributing to a whole that, in my imagination, resembled something like “urban loneliness”. These are songs of the city, of loneliness shared by millions of neighbours who jostle and corner each other in a common cage.
Any song gets better when he sings it. These songs are as much his as they are mine. They were his, they are his now, lucky for them, lucky for me.”
